These medications are contraindicated in patients with a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma, and in patients with Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2. Tell your clinician about any lump or swelling in the neck, hoarseness, trouble swallowing, or shortness of breath.
